Summary
You step towards him with a wolfish smile. Rafayel slips a finger into one of the belt loops on your pants, tugging you closer. “I think you could stand to be knocked down a few pegs,” you say.
Rafayel’s brows raise, his eyes burning with a challenge. He opens his mouth, but the sound of the elevator arriving has him stepping back, putting a more appropriate amount of space between your bodies.
The elevator dings open and there’s no one else there. You step inside and Rafayel follows immediately, slinking in close enough behind you for you to feel the warmth of him radiating against your back. When you turn to face him, he’s staring down at you.
The door remains open for a few more seconds, waiting for any possible stragglers, and when it seems like no one else will be joining, Rafayel leans in to brush his lips against your ear.
“I dare you,” he murmurs.
So you do.
