Summary
“So what are you getting Reo for Valentine’s Day?” Bachira asks curiously, stuffing a handful of goldfish into his mouth.
Barou’s eye twitches. “Don’t you dare get crumbs all over MY floor”
“Our floor.” Nagi corrects. Barou looks five seconds away from punching him. “Why would I get Reo anything?” He asks with a slight tilt of his head. Bachira’s mouth drops open. “Because you two are dating? Reo would be very sad if you didn’t get him anything!” Bachira says in an incredulous voice while he gawks at Nagi.
“Me and Reo aren’t dating though?”
All heads snap towards Nagi in disbelief. Even Barou does a full 180 turn towards him for fuck’s sake.
Or; Everyone thinks childhood friends Nagi and Reo are dating until Nagi reveals they’re not. Nagi wasn’t even aware of his own feelings until a certain question about Valentine’s Day comes from Bachira. Nagi is then forced to face his feelings and figure out how to ask Reo to be his valentine (and maybe more).

Summary
Reo watches Nagi take the phone back and break the heart of whichever two-dimensional love interest he'd been on a date with at that moment. "The point of a dating simulator is to get them to like you, you know," Reo says as Nagi taps away at the screen.
"I'm only interested in one of them," Nagi says. Then, by way of explanation, he adds, "The one that looks like you."
Reo stiffens. Nagi's hand goes right to his shoulder, as if trying to comfort him. "Why?" Reo chokes out, thankful for once that Nagi's gaze is fixed only on his phone.
"I'm practicing for when you and I start dating."

Summary
Reo reaches for Nagi and stops himself halfway, and it's with his hand hovering awkwardly between them that he mumbles, "There's a rumor that if someone kisses you, they'll have good luck."
"I haven't heard that one before," Nagi says. The rumors are usually more along the lines of if you talk to him, you'll be alone for the rest of your life, but Reo clearly isn't concerned about that one.
Reo creeps a little closer. "I'm planning on asking the school for permission to form a football team."
"Okay."
"I could...use some luck, you know."

Summary
The next time Chigiri sees Nagi, it's at lunch with Kunigami and Isagi, and he has a silver band on his ring finger. Chigiri can't stop himself from bursting out with, "You got married?" and everyone immediately whips around to stare at them.
"I didn't," Nagi says. He's sluggish to answer, eyes dull and half-lidded, and he barely turns to acknowledge Chigiri. It's not entirely uncharacteristic of him, but there's something strangely robotic about the way he leans away when Chigiri reaches for his shoulder.
"The ring finger is for couples, isn't it?" Chigiri asks. "People will think you're engaged, or something. Isn't it kind of weird?"
Nagi shifts uncomfortably in his seat. "I wouldn't mind," he whispers.
(Five times Nagi loved Reo from afar, and one time he didn't have to.)

"So," the man finally says, uneasy, with the vigilant caution of someone dismantling a bomb. "You want to marry Reo?"
Marry? Nagi never said anything of the sort, but now that he thinks about it, it's not too far off. "He's my partner for life," Nagi tells him.
"Your...husband?"
"Is that what they're calling it now?" Nagi says, nonchalant. "I guess so, then."
