“I heard,” the barkeep leaned forward as though to whisper conspiratorially, despite his voice being loud enough to carry through the semi-empty backwater tavern, “The Pirate King himself fought in it! The sailors who returned were all white in the face, the poor things. Said the King tumbled through the starboard gunports and climbed up the side of the Surprise all whilst under musket fire!”
(Or, the AU where rookie Trafalgar Law and the Pirate King walk into a tavern. Things only get better from there.)
