Summary
Junior Trainer Belno Light has had a lot to focus on. Even though Oguri Cap has long since moved on from racing, the team Kitahara's assembled has commanded a lot of her attention. But eventually, work stops being a distraction, and Belno begins to realize just how alone she really is at Tracen without her oldest friend.
Paramedic Pinch Runner has accomplished much in her first two years serving as one of Tracen's designated paramedics. She's seen and treated nearly every injury under the sun, but it's still not enough for her to pay off the debt she feels that she owes. Her service comes at a great personal cost, as is often the case when one makes their work their entire lives. But she doesn't have time to rest, not when others are depending upon her.
When an unusually strong heatwave hits Japan, Belno and Pinch begin crossing paths, and in doing so begin to realize that deep down, they both are searching for something beyond what they do for a living.
