Vertin had gone back to reading the paper with a cup of coffee in hand. Her lashes reflected some of the morning sun, casting a gentle shadow down the length of her beautiful face.
Taking a sip of her own drink, Sonetto turned and looked out the window at the cityscape. The sky was clear, framing the distant La Passerelle in golden light.
She tugged at her sleeves. This will pass in a week, just a week and she would be back to normal.
