Summary
Amy just laughs, waving her hand down. Boys could be so clueless. Sonic forgets about the lovey-dovey holiday that was planted graciously in the middle of February. The first few years when he came back into her life, she expected him to run up to her with flowers and gifts. She wanted nothing more than his love and attention. But each time the holiday came around, she would watch him, with tears filling her eyes, be empty-handed and uninterested. She had been all over him when they were kids. Clutching onto him every second she got, as if her life depended on it. It only made sense that he had wanted nothing to do with her back then. The thought made her cringe. She had been so naive, blinded by her admiration for the blue hero.
“Be safe, boys,” she called out, breaking out of her thoughts. Amy gently grabbed Sonic’s hands, "I love you.”
He gave her hands a quick squeeze and smiled bashfully at her. “We’ll be back before you can say Chili Dogs,” Smirking, he hopped on top of his little brother’s plane. The boys gave her one last goodbye before flying off.
Amy watched the plane, with a smile, until it merged into the skyline. Sonic, and herself, really had grown up a lot since then. -

Summary
Princess Amy Rose is determined to prove that she can lead the Rose Kingdom on her own by winning the Tournament of Champions. When she meets Sonic, a charming thief, in a chance encounter, the two strike a tentative deal - he'll train her for the tournament if she can help him bust a friend out of the castle prisons. Love and loyalty are tested as their magnetic attraction becomes hard to resist, and Sonic is given an impossible task by the maniacal leader of the camp of thieves. With the fate of the Kingdom at stake, Sonic and Amy must carve a new path for their feelings and their future, but the cost of what was stolen is much steeper than either of them could have known.
