“I love you,” Izuku begins, just as he ends.
Izuku finds that the comfy rooftop of their many accidental meetings and endeavored coffee breaks between patrols has lost its magical touch for just a moment, and the place remains what it was before they made it theirs. An empty, barren rooftop.
Izuku understands more than anything that life will never be fair, never, ever for the likes of him. And what is unrequited love in the face of years of discrimination and torment.
“It’ll pass.” Shouta says.
It is a privilege, Izuku thinks, to have your love shatter in the very same place it was built.
There’s something to love about doomed romances because it’s “what is grief if not love persevering” and yet it’s the grief and love happening at the same time. How do you grieve something that’s still alive? How do you love something that has always been dead?

Summary
Whoever said that "the past cannot be changed" obviously didn't take into account the existence of quirks and Izuku Midoriya's ability to cheat fate.
But that didn't matter; what mattered was using what he'd learned the first time around to stop things from happening again, because he'd be damned if he let the League of Villains go around causing havoc for a second time.
(Or: A run in with a villain sends Izuku twelve years into the past, where he becomes the teaching assistant of Class 1-A and decides to change some things up as he goes along, much to Aizawa's 'annoyance'.)
