Summary
After a mission gone horribly wrong, James T. Kirk finds himself in quite the predicament. Instead of returning to the Enterprise on two legs, he returns walking on four. Bones always told Jim he had the personality of an overly-excited Golden Retriever, but this was taking the expression to a whole other level.
Jim and the crew of the Enterprise have to find a way to get their captain back to normal, while also learning how to deal with having a dog captaining the most renowned ship in Starfleet. Hopefully, they'll be able to find a cure before Jim's 'dog days' end up lasting forever. -

However, they are the best crew in Starfleet, which essentially means they’ll just make it up as they go. When the Enterprise's first officer recruits childhood acquaintance, Tralnor, as a partner in completing a dangerous covert task assigned by T'Pau, nothing is easy. Vulcan's shadowy past still has teeth, and the onus is on Spock to stop a piece of history from taking a bite out of the present.
Jim Kirk, convinced he's still got time to ask Spock to be his lover, starts to fray at the edges, nearly sinking their relationship, after he catches wind of a very special woman in Spock's life. What Kirk does not know is just how much Spock wants to stay at the captain's side as a friend plus a lot more.
