Dead, gone, they weren’t coming back. Lily? Gone. Marlene? Gone. Dorcas? Gone. James? Gone. Peter? Gone. Sirius? Might as well be. Remus? No one knows.
But what wasn’t gone were the dreaded nightmares, like the one that woke her up tonight, and they wouldn’t ever go. Panting, Mary decided she couldn’t live like that anymore. Shakily, she grabbed her wand from its place on her bedside table and raised it to her temple. One word came from her mouth.
