Summary
The memory of V jumping from cover, hurling insults at Adam Smasher to catch his attention, will forever be ingrained in Johnny’s past as one of the worst events he’s witnessed. The mercenary selflessly sacrificed himself so Johnny and his team could flee, getting himself torn to shreds in the process. It was a nightmare that plagued Johnny, a recollection of his greatest failures, of everything he tried to accomplish and was never strong enough to.
Now, in 2077, there’s rumors of a man quickly working his way up the ranks of edgerunners – a man who goes by the name of V. It must be a coincidence, up until the mysterious merc shows up in the Afterlife, and he looks just like the man that sacrificed himself for Johnny fifty-four years ago.

How do you learn to deal with a moody teenager who hates your guts, a little girl who definitely shouldn't be exposed to the horrors of Night City, your lovely boyfriend who's the father of said children and a parasitic former rocker-boy/terrorist who also happens to be your new best friend that lives in your head while simultaneously indirectly killing you as each day goes by? Not to mention you've been keeping the last part secret for the entirety of the time you've been dating your boyfriend?
Guess V will just have to figure it out one step at a time.
