A crash follows on the other side of the door, and Yasha calls back to her from inside their tiny bathroom. "Can you get him, please?”
An exasperated groan leaves Beau’s lips while pressing her forehead into the door that separates the two of them. "He fucking hates me. He’s never gonna let me carry him back inside”
"I can't come out now. Just get him, please"
Yasha's plea makes her push back against the door curiously, and a teasing hint finds Beau's tone of voice. "Why can't you come out and get him yourself?"
It takes a minute and some shuffling inside their bathroom before Yasha answers in a tone of embarrassment. "Because I'm covered in body glitter, Beau. Remember the shit you brought back from that show you went to-"
"Okay, okay, okay. I'll get the fucking cat" Beau relents without too much trouble - and she dashes into the hallway while trying very hard not to picture her roommate naked and covered in body glitter.

"Vax looked terrible. His hair was falling in long, sweat-dark strands around his face, escaping erratically from its usually well-kept topknot. At not even halfway through his ambulance clinic rotation, just one step in his paramedic training, the bags under Vax’s eyes were nigh-omnipresent, but this evening looked even darker than usual. He was wearing his emergency backup clothes, the old t-shirt and sweatpants he kept at the EMS station for when he didn’t feel like wearing his uniform home. He blinked slowly when he saw Shaun, face heavy with weariness. 'Hey.'
'Hey.' Shaun walked over slowly, placing a hand on Vax’s shoulder. 'Long day?'"

Essek Thelyss is a prodigy, one of the Marble Tomes' foremost researchers, and the son of one of the Dynasty's most influential families—he is certainly not a teacher of children. And yet, somehow, he has ended up at a school on the other side of the border, with a list of publications as tall as he is and no classroom experience.
