Summary
“How are you today?” He asks, watching the man sort through his things.
The old man doesn’t reply, just keeps looking down into his sack, grunting as he struggles to find what he’s looking for.
Jisung doesn’t ask again, knowing from experience that he won’t answer. He doesn’t talk to him—doesn’t ask him about his day—he just sits there.
“It’s colder today,” Jisung says to him. “I don’t like the cold.”
“It’s just very sad, you know? All the animals leave when it gets cold, even they hate it I guess. I think the sun should just work harder so that it wouldn’t get cold, and we could live in summer forever.” He smiles to himself as he thinks back to July.
As he remembers the long humid nights and the warm summer rays that tanned his skin, his hands yearn for warmth.
“If I could live in summer forever—”
