Summary
Apollo Justice has been hired to investigate the suspicious and untimely death of wealthy socialite Klavier Gavin.
It’s not like this is the first time Apollo has investigated a death, but it is the most high profile one he’s ever been tasked with – Klavier Gavin’s death had made the morning newspapers, and even Apollo had recognised the name when he heard street gossip of how his body was apparently found rigid, lying flat on his bed, his eyes wide open like he wasn’t dead, just paralyzed, and unable to crawl back into his own body. Apollo doesn’t want to think about the state of Klavier Gavin’s body now, although looking into the autopsy report is an inevitability. He hopes that the medical professional at least had the thought to close Klavier Gavin’s unflinching eyes.

“If you’re interested, the shade is 644 Sydney,” Klavier told him, probably just to make conversation. Apollo didn’t tell him that he’d known it was between 644 Sydney and 720 Icone. He didn’t tell him that he’d been driven to the brink of insanity and made the awful mistake of researching Dior the first time he’d seen the case in Klavier’s hand. He didn’t tell him that at this point it was an obsession, and treating every new shade like an investigation was the only way for him to keep his head on straight.
In fact, he didn’t tell him anything at all.
So Klavier kept wearing lipstick and Apollo kept thinking about it. He’d scroll through the catalogue of products and organize them by color and finish while his mind wandered to what they felt like. Would Klavier’s lips feel different against his own with a velvet finish versus a satiny one? Would they feel all that different bare? Which kind of lipstick would stain his skin the most as Klavier kissed his neck? How many kisses would it take to ruin the most long-lasting, kind?
He closed his laptop. This had to stop."
Or, Klavier gets into the habit of wearing lipstick every day and Apollo is really normal about it

Summary
Klavier flirted with a lot of people - he had to of course, to keep up the reputation he had built up in the past however many years. Most of the time, it was to make them aware of his cocky personality. It was extinct after all, to do that to people, maintaining his rockstar persona that he had easily slipped into all those years ago.
But with a certain defense attorney, it was different.
With Apollo, it was always different.
The man that had still remained in his life after the trial that dragged everything to the surface. The man who he had faced in court multiple times - and always remained victorious. The man who sought the truth as much as he did. He still held that persona for him, flirting with him any chance he got.
And Klavier was more and more confused when Apollo wouldn’t pick up his hints. He made it increasingly obvious every time he saw the younger man. But, Klavier could tell they were getting nowhere.
(or, Apollo is dense and trucy is his one working brain cell to sense Klavier's flirting)
