“Hey Tim.”
“Is everything okay?” His tone was still unsettled. Like he was trying to make sure, she meant to call him.
“Uh yeah- I just…” she stumbles over her response because she truly doesn’t know what to say.
“Are you okay?” He presses.
“Yeah I’m fine.”
“Okay…” there’s a noticeable pause. “Is Lucy okay?”

Summary

Summary
At first, he thinks every audiobook in existence might have the same effect on him, although a 30-day Audible free trial discounts that theory fairly quickly. While he may be loath to admit it, Lucy was right about him being a kinesthetic learner, and yet it seems the only audiobooks that provide a balm for his sleeplessness are the ones narrated in her clear, serene voice.

And ever since she was tattooed by a sadist who etched her day of death into her skin, it's basically the only thing in her life that helps her forget about reality.
