Summary
AU: Dazai is Dick’s younger brother.
His real name is Tsushima (last name) Shūji (first name).
Dazai was born after Dick’s parents separated for a short time. During that period, his mother, Mary, overwhelmed by emotions, slept with the first man she met and ended up getting pregnant. Later, when John (Dick’s father) and Mary got back together, John accepted the child, but refused to give him his last name.
As a result, John treated Shuji with neglect and disdain, seeing him as a symbol of his wife’s betrayal. Mary treated Shūji somewhat better, but even so, she couldn’t really be called a good mother.
Dick… well, what about Dick? He didn’t know how Shuji was born. And even though he and Tsushima argue sometimes, they are still close.
