Miorine's the brash-talking, fisticuffs-wearing delinquent from hell who always rides into school on a motorcycle with an exhaust loud enough to shatter the science building's windows. Or so Suletta thinks she is.
Whatever she is, whatever they are, they're not exactly a likely pair, a delinquent and the student body treasurer. But it's not as if they're at liberty to be picky with who they'll be spending time with in their senior year of high school, now that they only have each other.

Tainted by the weight of her actions, like a hangman’s noose pulling her to the bottom of the abyss.
She had never considered how easy it was. How unthinking it was. How fragile a human life could be. How she would do it again. And again. And again.
As long as it meant saving those that she loved.

At her local cafe, she sees Miorine at the end of the coffee table, who feels achingly familiar as though she were plucked from the colors of her thoughts. When her dog Aerial refuses to leave, staring at Miorine, dancing on her paws and whimpering, Suletta knows something is off.

They are thick, bubbly, and have the vibrant inner glow of the ocean itself—like the sea trapped in a shard of crystal. Made from an older source, an ancient relic. Rare and coveted.
Reflecting the colors of the sea and sky.That was the first thought that came to Miorine’s mind when she caught Suletta’s eyes, bright and sparkling. A concentrated smear of Earth’s colors flitting in nervous glances. Darting here and there.

Miorine regards her quietly and watches how the intensity of her gaze makes Suletta squirm. She finds it almost endearing that her personas come and go with the breeze, but somehow Miorine feels like she is the kind of girl who’s heart always returns to spring - delicate and too soft for the world.
Undeniably, Miorine is interested to see all the facets of Mercury that she can draw out from this curious girl that came to her rescue in a midnight haze.
She props her elbow on her desk and rests her chin in her hand, and Suletta’s nervousness is palpable and Miorine almost laughs.
