Draco Malfoy has one thing, and only one thing, in common with the Ravenclaw Mudblood: they were both totally alone. Alliances have been forged from less, he supposed. Sure, he was going against centuries of pureblood doctrine, but it was better than having no one. Besides Crabbe and Goyle, but as she pointed out so rudely, "Cronies don't count".
Rayne Day couldn't understand how everyone just hated Draco the moment they saw him in his green robes. Yeah, the hair grease wasn't helping, she supposed. And neither were the blood purity slurs. Yeesh, being friends with him was going to be tough. But she was already so alienated that it didn't really matter anymore. Plus, when you got him alone, he was funny! A quick, dry wit that was so intelligent and refreshing. He was only a total jerk when in proximity to other Slytherins. Whatever, it's not like anyone's going to be writing letters home. Her parents wouldn't be home to see them, anyway.
