Summary
Usually, he's much more elegant, able to efficiently block, dodge, and maneuver around Ajax without a second thought. Even without his Gnosis, he's usually more than capable of avoiding his attacks. Things are different this time.
Perhaps, like Ajax said, he is starting to get predictable.
More recently, he finds himself tiring easily, needing more time after fights to collect himself, and even bruising for days afterwards. They often find themselves in front of a mirror, the two of them pressing curious fingers into the marks, wondering just how long they’ll last this time.
Ajax is continuously improving, and Zhongli finds himself at a standstill.

Z: You wanted my opinion, so here it is.Z: I found the position to be satisfactory, the point of the photo is quickly evident, but not overwhelming. However, my main criticism is the lack of face within the image, by cutting it out of frame you lose intimacy with the recipient. I am sure you would receive promising results in return if you were to be more confident in that regard.
Z: If you want an overall number rating, I would settle for a 7.5/10. Keep up the good work.

“No, no-” Childe laughed. It twinkled with this amusement Zhongli latched onto with an earnest interest. Perhaps, that’s why he was so agreeable to it. “It is not dinner I want from you, Zhongli. How about a proposition, hm? To help you get over this aversion of yours. How bad could it be if it's just me?”
(Bad. Zhongli realizes in retrospect. Childe had lured him into this trap with honeyed words that Zhongli naively took at face value.)
