When Goro booked his one way ticket to Hawaii, he probably said some bullshit about wanting a change of scenery, still unwilling to admit the bitter truth of it all which is: he is an old, washed up yakuza with no more gang to go home to, and he's still unthinkingly and pathetically in love with a dying man who somehow doesn't even seem to realize Goro’s only in Hawaii to be with him.
“Kazuma,” Goro sighs, “if you honestly think I'm here to have a fucking piña colada on the beach, you're even stupider than I thought.”
