Summary
Objectively she knows there are only great things gained from their dalliance– the word clutters her mind, perhaps too rude – if she would only allow herself. As long as it stays secret, there isn’t a moment of her time with Susan that grates or drags or makes her unhappy. Behind her, the back door whines from use. The world is an alley; two industrial garbage cans, wooden palettes, black trash bags and Susan. Susan, who has been at her side for so long – they’ve wandered in and out of each other's lives over the years, but these last few have been sure in their closeness. Close is definitely a word for it.

Summary
After Death, there is no real motivation to think back on events from life. There is no awareness and shame that exists once you have been torn from the world – it should not even occur to a dead thing like him that he once had a life at all. Yet somehow the thoughts come crawling in, slithering through his mind and leaving wet trails across his consciousness- what little remains of it.

Summary
“...I mean, I dunno,” Sophie fiddled nervously with the zipper pull of her letterman. “I don’t even think I have nice clothes to wear. It’s all jeans and t-shirts, I think. They’re not exactly new either.”
“Wait, seriously? You should really have something nicer than jeans, dude. Even I’ve got like, blouses I can wear in case I ever need them.”
...
Jenny hummed in response, sitting back in the seat and bouncing her leg, “Okay, tell you what, I’m off work tomorrow. If you’d like, we can hit up that thrift store downtown and see if we can find you something?” a pause. “Not dresses. Maybe a nice shirt and slacks?”
