    Jayce desperately wants to rub at his forehead, but the binding at his wrist stops him. He settles for squeezing his eyes shut. “Why?” he asks.

    Viktor is silent for barely a moment. He says, tonelessly, “I assumed this was preferable to dying.”

    slow burn, very chaste, nicely written. I especially enjoyed is as an alternative plotline to arcane season 2. weniger abgespaced... :D
