    Sun hesitates for just a moment, locking eyes with you, but he takes your credit card from your outstretched hand, swiping it through the register’s scanner. “If you insist,” he says, returning your card before grabbing a cup and a marker, looking back up at you. “And am I getting your actual name today, my dear?”

    You try to ignore the pet name. “How does Supernova sound?”

    The animatronic raises a silicone eyebrow at you. “Like it’s not your name,” he says, though he writes it down anyway. “But I do like that you’re sticking with the theme!”
