“Don’t you dare let go!” Her fingers slipped on her hold as she began to panic.
“I–I’m trying!” Rumi gasped, her voice trembling, as blood from her injuries soaked into her sleeves.
Mira’s fingers slipped. Just a little, but it made a big difference.
“No–no, no!” Mira’s voice cracked as she yelled and tightened her grip again. “I’ve got you!”
