Summary
Falst was having a shit day. It was obvious to anyone who remotely knew him, but Dainix picked up on it immediately. He tried not to dwell on it, but Falst was hardly even acknowledging other people when they talked to him, let alone responding. Seeing him like this put an anxious pit in Dainix’s gut, and the day felt heavier looking at the expression on his face. He hated seeing Falst in such a stubbornly grumpy mood.
The gang is traveling on foot, Falst is grumpy for unknown reasons, and Dainix wants to do something about it. If only Falst could stop having so many feelings about his feelings (or at least be able to name more than two of those feelings).

Hear me out. It's arc 2 chapter 4, except:
- Falst talks to Dainix during the trek, reflecting on the events since arc 1 chapter 15 (roughly).
- Dainix can hear but he can't reply, and he won't remember later.Split perspective with part 1 in Falst's head and part 2 in Dainix's head.
Part angst, part fluff, part character study, and effectively canon compliant.
