“Okay,” Jayce says when he arrives at the lab, throwing his documents on the desk. “I’ve got news.”
Viktor glances at him from above tons of screws, cables and even more piles of metal parts. He raises a quizzical eyebrow.
“We’ll be hosting a group of science kids for the Progress Day this year.”
Now, that makes Viktor look at Jayce properly. He stops what he’s been doing and leans back in his chair, confused.
“Wait,” he starts, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Come again?”
“Kids. Here, with us, next week,” Jayce sighs, but then smiles, clearly entertained by the idea. “It’s going to be interesting, that’s for sure!”
“Interesting?” Viktor asks, standing up and reaching for his cane. “Interesting? Jayce, we- we can’t have kids here!”OR: Viktor gets called pretty by the kids and Jayce agrees

“I’m going to make tea, want some?” Jayce asked at last, turning to the tiny kitchen station they had in the corner.
“Hmm yes, please.” Viktor replied, his voice sounding strained.
Steam billowed from the mouth of the kettle as Jayce listened to it whistling away- he made two cups of Earl Grey and carried them back over- giving himself the ‘Man of Progress’ mug and Viktor one of Sky’s that said ‘#1 Princess’.
Viktor arched an eyebrow at him as Jayce placed it down.
“Princess? Really?”
Jayce clutched at his chest, “And here I was, wasting my time to pick the perfect mug for you.”

Summary

There, he begins working with Jayce Talis, a young and ambitious physicist from the US.
