Kalim and Jamil are 13 years old when they see their first shooting star. Jamil remembers how the heir tugged on his sleeve, pointing excitedly with his other hand.
“Jamil!! Look, a shooting star! We have to make a wish!”

The beautiful ball of light streaked across the night sky and disappeared on the horizon. Jamil couldn’t share his “friend’s” enthusiasm at the time. After all, his greatest wish, freedom from his station, would never come true. Or so he thought…
Kalim is 21 when he takes over the family business and ascends from heir to head of the Al-Asim house. His very first action when he rises to power is to terminate the bonds that enslave the Vipers to his family, as well as any other generational servants the Asims have accumulated over the years.
Jamil is 22 when he becomes a free man no longer bound to Kalim Al-Asim. His very first action when he gains his long overdue rights is to book a one way ticket out of the Scalding Sands to go pursue something great.
TLDR: A future fic in which Jamil and Kalim work together to get everything they ever wanted (eventually).
