No fate dared to take their sides. All eyes avoided them like the plague. On one hand, people’s sympathy draped over these poor unfortunates as they witnessed their loved ones losing themselves to a poisonous disease. On the other, the damages of their aftermath, the spot-on insanity, the endless madness lit up within their post-death traces and all the rest of the things which followed after, was too much to brush away. The turmoil between sympathy and resentment hung in the air like a faint hovering thread, waiting to snap soundlessly at any given chance.
