The last person Dean expected to see in Lawrence was his childhood friend and crush, Jimmy Novak, who is the forensic pathologist that performed the autopsy on his father. The news of his father’s death and seeing Jimmy again brought back a flood of memories for Dean. One of Dean’s biggest regrets was not ever telling Jimmy how he felt about him before Jimmy left Sioux Falls.
