“What are you doing?” Hoshina squawks indignantly, staring up at him in annoyance as Narumi slides on the bed and kneels over him.

Summary
Narumi isn’t used to losing. He’s the strongest. He’s been told since enlistment that he is the future of the Defense Force, and he’s taken it in stride that his purpose, his only reason for being born is so that he can save the whole of Japan from the Kaiju invasion. And yet, he couldn’t even protect one person.
“Why are you here, Soushirou? I thought the Third Division was still en route,” Narumi complains instead of acknowledging any of this.
