    It is, perhaps, the highlight of Hob Gadling’s life in all its longevity, to watch the kid go barrelling across the room towards the Stranger, who’s simultaneously the most powerful and socially awkward person – creature – entity Hob knows, to trap his leg in a hug.

    The Stranger goes stock-still.

    “Bollocks.” Hob then says, eloquently, and half falls out of his chair to chase after the kid.

    In which Morpheus escapes captivity to find Hob Gadling inexplicably housing a child that looks exactly like him. Needless to say, everyone’s a little confused about it.
