Now that he's looking for it, Yuuji can feel it: the words are etched into him, woven into his muscles and carved into his bones. Start by saving me, Itadori. Yuuji promised he would, so now he must.
The burning pain is starting to come back again. It begins in his chest this time, slightly to the right. Yuuji swallows, reaching up to press his hand against it.
So, he thinks dazedly, as the universe begins to take him apart. This is what happens when you break a Binding Vow.

OH MY GODDDDDD the best itafushi fic I’ve ever read. The perfect amount of angst, and I still get my happy ending. I can’t help but wonder at all the failed timelines Yuuji leaves behind, where all the others must live without either of them… and that last AU where fushi and yuuji were together as non-sorcerers… gojo’s distrust was hurting me so much the whole time, like I know he doesn’t know yuuji as his student at all but stilllll. And tsumiki wingmanning (or wingwoman I guess) fushi and yuuji together ahhhhhhh! That ‘verse and all the ones before made me complacent, and then Gojo died and I was like oh yeah. That still happens. And all those gojos knew they would die, but they had to save Megumi anyways, and some of those gojos still ended up killing him… Jjk never fails to make me sick. The sadness never ends, but thank you for giving us this small happiness
