Sometimes, when the nightmares had been especially bad, Kirishima’s hands would tremble as he gripped the fabric of Bakugo’s shirt. He would shift, not to move away but to adjust, making space for him to curl closer. He’d whisper something half-coherent, like, “You’re fine, just sleep.”
And Kirishima would.
But not before Bakugo’s hand found its way to the small of his back, resting there like an anchor, fingers splayed against the thin cotton of Kirishima’s shirt. It wasn’t a dramatic gesture, nothing practiced or intentional, just something that happened, like breathing, like muscle memory. It wasn’t about comfort, not in the way most people thought of it. It was about existence, about reassurance woven into touch, about the undeniable fact that Bakugo was there, alive and tangible beneath Kirishima’s cheek.
