“Okay, seriously, what is going on with you?” Mira demands. Rumi catches a glimpse of her expression, eyes narrowed, like she’s confused rather than hurt. “This is totally, like, I don’t know, Rumi! This isn’t you. Listen, I get that things are tough, but what the hell is this?”
“It’s—”
“Don’t lie to me, Rumi,” Mira warns. “How are we meant to seal the honmoon if you’re too busy doing...whatever this is? You’re tearing yourself apart. And—what the hell was all of that? Do you seriously expect me to just, I don’t know, ignore all of that? Are you serious?”
She’s going to kill you. You should let her.
“Mira, it’s—”
“Don’t lie to me, Rumi,” Mira hisses out, her confusion turning to hurt; Rumi can see the shift in her eyes, the way she flinches back as soon as the words leave her mouth. “Please. What’s going on with you?”

Mira and Zoey are worried about Rumi. A heatwave has been assaulting Kora lately and Rumi is still ALWAYS wearing long-sleeved and high-necked tops. They worry what Rumi might be hiding from them that would require such covering.
Hearing her scream in agony one night finally spurs them to action, if only Zoey had known what to expect before finding Rumi in the state she's in.
