Summary
Corruption was a creeping, insidious thing. One could be utterly steadfast in their aspirations, certain of the path that they would walk, and yet, all it took was stumbling once along the way for corruption to begin seeping through the cracks. Slowly, steadily, it would take hold of one's heart until the unforgivable became something they could begrudgingly accept.
Understanding began with acceptance.
Akaza quickly realized that Kyojuro could not care less about gaining more strength, but he was determined to have him by his side regardless. So he observed him. He learned what it was that made the Hashira tick, and slowly, his offers became more tempting.
Kyojuro Rengoku stumbled.
