You walk away from an abusive life with nowhere to go, only to be taken in by a strangely dysfunctional family. Even with that in mind you find yourself fitting in with the Hewitts in weird ways, especially with Luda Mae's youngest son.
It's quick, painful and so confusing to be bombarded with all these strange emotions at once. Oh and there's a LOT of false senses of security, thanks to good 'ol Officer Hoyt.
