“The catch?” Venti wheezed, a sob shaking him as he tried to breathe. “She doesn’t remember you. None of your time together. No memories of what you ever said or did together. You’re just another person she’s just met on her journey.”
It wasn’t her fault that she couldn’t remember him. Aether had forgotten so much of his childhood as well. It wasn’t either of their faults. It wasn’t his either.
They had all been dealt a horrifically hilarious joke of a life to live.

Venti lets out a quiet laugh, his fingers tracing the cool, golden ring on Lumine’s finger. “Someone’s in a rush. You’re always so excited every time it’s Christmas,” he slants his gaze towards the window, taking in the sight of the falling snow and people, all wrapped up in winter clothing. “But the night is still young, the Christmas tree won’t go anywhere and the ice isn’t melting soon. Let’s not rush and enjoy the moment. It’ll leave a more memorable impression that way, you know?”
“And the mistletoes?” Lumine arches an eyebrow. “What about the mistletoes?”
Her lover lets out a louder laugh this time, thoroughly amused by her adorable, child-like impatience. “Oh, Lumi, I honestly doubt we’ll have much difficulty in finding mistletoes… but to ease your worry, if we did, in fact, fail to find one, I will hang one myself so you can kiss me.”
“But how are you going to hang a mistletoe if you can’t find one?”
Venti gives her a mischievous, knowing wink. “Don’t underestimate me, Lumi, I have my ways.”
