Geno’s nose scrunches up like he’s just sniffed someone’s rank gear bag. “He say you trigger Sasha’s rut. Won’t let no one near him, not even beta trainer.”
“I didn’t hit him that hard!” Sid argues. Geno nods along in agreement, until Sid adds, “And how could I trigger him? I’m not even in heat.”
Geno’s nose wrinkles again. God damnit, Sid hates that look sometimes.
“You a little bit in heat, Sid,” Geno admits reluctantly, inching back in his stall.

Summary
Claude’s not sure what he expects after Worlds, but it’s not the silence he actually receives. The last time he saw Sidney Crosby, he’d just finished kissing him on a bench in Prague. That was in May, and now it’s October and the two of them haven’t exchanged a single word, not in person, not over the phone, not even via text. It probably doesn’t help that they never exchanged contact information, but if Sidney wanted Claude’s number, there were people he could ask. To be fair, Claude supposes he could do the same, but in his mind, he made the first move. It’s up to Captain Canada to decide what comes next.
The answer to that is, apparently, nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Post the 2015 Worlds, Claude takes matters into his own hands.

“So I say, before I’m thinking through, I say am getting married,” Geno says and glances up at Sid and then back down again. “They say to American?” Geno seems reluctant to continue. Sid’s stuck on trying to figure out who Geno is marrying and why he didn’t tell Sid about it. “I say, ‘no, to Canadian.'”
Sid makes a face. Because seriously, Sid feels like he would’ve heard if Geno was dating someone that seriously. But then again, he had no idea Geno had a kid until he was sitting in a hotel room in fucking Finland.
“Who?” Sid finally asks when Geno seems like he’s not going to continue.
Geno takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. “You.”
“Me what?” Sid asks stupidly.
