    Summary

    On today's feature presentation, the role of Tappei is played by Spriteanon, featuring SNUser as Editor-kun and guest starring BerylTheManatee as Otsuka!

    Started on a whim on April 4th, 2021 as a bit of practice, this is a semi-retelling of the story of Re:Zero which does and will diverge within certain limits from the original story itself, incorporating a number of ideas which's disclosure for the most part would serve as nothing but spoiler.

    The primary divergence present from the start, is what the whim was based on. A community cried out, as the writer of a "Fembaru" fanfic disappeared, and so was born this story to fill the void. If "Fembaru" is unclear, the initial divergence, is that in this world Natsuki Subaru is in fact a woman. However, one should neither expect the world to be fully switched when it comes to the sexes, nor that Subaru is the only one who is switched. Since again this fanfiction was started to fill a void in a community, said community got a vote on which major characters would switch and which wouldn't. In future, as the story progresses, similar votes may still be held.

    With the approach of the royal selection, and Felt's imminent resignation, there's only two concerns at the forefront of Subaru's mind: Hoping that Felt chooses to remain with the Roswaal estate even after the resignation she had planned since first hearing of her candidacy; and that she, Subaru, can find a way to protect the fragile heart of the sweet, silver-haired girl whose boundless kindness is repaid with nothing but contempt and hate by the world, and who in turn locks herself away in her hopeless studies to impress people that do not deserve her.

    Note on "Mature" rating: These short stories aren't actually meant to contain any 'mature' themes or situations, but since they are part of a series that does, mostly on count of violence, I opted to mark this as Mature too.

    Since these are "Extra Chapters", and generally fit the same theme, I decided to break with tradition a bit, and only the Arc's title will be a song lyric, namely, this song's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BOEb4ZN_jw
    The "chapter" titles themselves (though the chapters aren't meant to be in chronological order, instead are mostly self contained) do have a theme to them, but it's not as elaborate as song lyrics, and might be a bit too easy to guess if released more than one "chapter", so I'm not holding a guessing contest about them.
