Baelor wakes up with no memory of what happened after he got hit in the head and finds out everyone in Ashford went into heat or rut. He finds Maekar with bruises littering his body and a mating bite on his neck.
After years of pining, someone did what he should have done a long time again.
Baelor has to figure out who would violate Maekar like this and why Maekar seems to be getting angrier at him, the more he questions him on the identity of this disgusting alpha.

He didn't know, he just knew that of all things he would forever regret the death of his beloved brother Baelor, more than 20 years past that Tourney in Ashford and he still hadn't forgot the sight of Baelor's lifeless body, if only things had been diferent, if only he could have lived in a world were he never swung that mace... Maekar should have been more careful of what he asked the Gods.
Bloodraven used to say that the Gods don't give anything for free, a life for a life, there was always an exchange. He dind't expect, however, that the Gods would send him back in time, to his childhood, but in a world were he indeed would never swung a mace, a world were Maekar Targaryen was born as Princess Maelle instead.
