Ishigami pauses, watching Tsukasa carefully. “Yeah. I’ll do it no matter what.”
A strange sensation bubbles up in Tsukasa’s chest and runs through his entire body like electricity. His lips curl into a smile, and he can’t help leaning closer.
“I want to see it,” Tsukasa says. “When you get there, will you show me?”

And Tsukasa blinks at her, slowly, a beautiful and vaguely naive sort of deer. It’s a lovely contrast worn on a creature built by nature with claws and teeth. Not the slow-dawning realization of what Senku is offering (asking for just as much) so much as a gentle coming-to, like a thing in hibernation longer than either of them have known each other has finally, finally started waking up.
Affection, sticky and disgusting, curls in Senku’s gut.
A routine physical in the wake of Tsukasa's resurrection turns extremely physical.

The whole thing started, as it usually went between Yusuke and Kuwabara, with something really stupid.
Yusuke opened the conversation with his typical grace and tact. “Yo, lunkhead. I need you for something.”
After a brief scuffle, in which Kuwabara tried and failed to knock Yusuke over, the two of them ended up sitting beside each other on the curb. “Better not be anything dumb,” Kuwabara muttered. “I have plans, you know.”
“Plans like what? Studying? Dude. You gotta give the books a rest.” Yusuke reached over to brush some dust out of Kuwabara’s hair. Kuwabara went very still, but Yusuke didn’t notice, too busy squinting to make sure he’d gotten it all. “And no, it’s not dumb. Look.” He produced a bright pink flier from the inner pocket of his windbreaker.
Kuwabara squinted at it. “All you can eat seafood fest?” His eyes narrowed further. “Dude. This is a couple’s event.”
“Yeah. I know. Why do you think I brought this to you instead of rolling up on my own and demolishing the buffet myself?” He paused. “I mighta still invited you. You’re getting kinda scrawny these days.”

A storm-heavy wind crosses, but the movement through underbrush is something else entirely and he doesn't need to wonder if the traps here have caught game. As he pushes aside the leaves, he reminds himself that he's always let those who've suffered for his survival rest comfortably before their deaths—has always asked for understanding from what he’s killed.
There’s a limp, hung thing snared by the throat through the first wire trap he checks—white fur matted from the struggle that broke its own neck, blood-red eyes glassy and staring into the distance.
Tsukasa tries, more than anything, not to think about the fact that he’s never done the same for Senku—asked—not because he’s afraid of the question, but because he knows the answer already and doesn’t want to hear it.
A dead thing can’t forgive, but a live thing can, after all.
