Summary
If anyone had asked, Mike would always say his favorite season was fall.
Could you blame him? There was just so much to love about it – the shifting hues of amber, bronze, and ruby that adorned the falling leaves in Central Park; the dwindling temperatures that brought relief from the sticky summer heat; the feel of a new knit sweater against the fresh gales of fall breeze. The gloomy sky and crisp air perfectly synthesized into the type of atmosphere that let Mike justify another cup of coffee, and hell, he’d take that over the glaring sun and thick humidity of New York summers any day.
What was there to not love about fall? Honestly, he couldn’t think of one thing even if he tried his hardest –
Oh. Right.
His boyfriend hated the fall.

Summary
“I’m here.” Mike responded. He let his own hand lay on top of Will’s, further confirming, letting his touch linger. He felt the pressure on his chest grow ever so slightly, “I’m here.”
Will, hand trailing to gently trace against the edge of his freckle kissed jaw, merely watched as the trap snapped. Although unaware, even the smallest brush of his skin locked Mike where he sat. That calloused hand had successfully plucked the air from his lungs and cemented him to his blue beach towel.
“I know.”
OR: Will, the center of Mike's universe. The center of it all.

Summary
It’s been seven years since Will Byers vanished from Hawkins for the second time; seven years since he picked up his life, moved across the globe, and finally settled. He had found himself in a small town outside of Dublin with no desire to be anyplace else. He was happy. Ireland was great — beautiful sights, decent weather, and it was far. So, so far.
But when past feelings bubble from under the surface and start to poison his creative endeavors, he doesn’t think things could get any worse.
Seeing Mike Wheeler at his local grocery store quickly proves him wrong.

Summary
“Best friend,” Will scoffs, suddenly finding this entire thing hilarious. It's funny, so he laughs, ignoring the way it finally makes Mike flinch back, finally makes him look unsure of himself. “That's funny, Mike. You're funny.”
“You're avoiding the question,” Mike says quietly, seeming to all at once remember where they are, the fact that they're surrounded by their friends and family.
“Believe it or not, Mike,” Will mutters, his lips wobbling as he forces himself not to cry. “I don't have to answer to you.”

Summary
He smelled it, tasted it, metal and viscera, healed entirely, but there all the same beneath the thin skin stretched along his facial bones.
He would feel it, like a very human mistake.
Under Hawkins fields and tarmac lay a similar scar, ripped open so deep they would never find the bottom, stitched together and grass growing in sod patches like a surgeon’s poor work. They did a good job of recovery, from each one of the tragedies, abnormalities, martial law and government occupation. So normal, like nothing had happened.
Everyone but Will Byers.
OR; Henry listened to Will and it takes time for them both to understand what that means.
