Summary
Tadashi had noticed the shift in his brother almost immediately.
The young boy had been stuck in his head more. He got like this occasionally. When his peers, far much older than him, treated him condescendingly. Hiro would sometimes describe it as a cat cleaning a mouse before it goes in for the kill.
Kindness to mask their hideous intentions.
These types of analogies always scared the elder boy. In all honesty? He wasn’t sure why. Maybe it was because he had seen some of the horrors the world had to offer. Maybe it was because he didn’t know all of the horrors to be uncovered. Maybe, maybe, maybe.

Summary
As a child, Hiro Hamada would begin sobbing uncontrollably for no apparent reason at any given time.
Aunt Cass, having just lost her sister and brother-in-law, thrust into the world of parenting without any idea about how to do what she was doing. Having to parent grieving children, one of which who was too young to properly understand and process what happened? Hiromi had just known her parents were there one day, and the next, they were gone.
Just like that. Poof.
The works in this series can be read as oneshots or together. There's not exactly a chronological order either, although this one would come before the first I published.

When Tadashi Hamada had entered the SFIT campus, he had a little sister he would constantly rave about.
“Oh, Hiromi loves gummy bears!”
“Hiromi keeps going to bot fights. I always ask her when she’s going to do something with that big brain of her’s; I swear, she has so much potential.”
“Hiromi would love this! Aunt Cass has some photos of us assembling a robot toy together when we were way, way younger— I forget how tiny she really was.”
And then one day his demeanor changed and the word "Hiromi" never left his lips again. Only Hiro.
Or, Hiro Hamada hadn't always been a male child prodigy. At some point, he had been a child prodigy little sister Tadashi Hamada would never shut up about.
