Once upon a time, when the Apple Incident happened, Nightmare was merely a child. When he ate the Apple, he lost himself for a very long time.

And when the dust finally settles and Nightmare can think as himself again, all that is left of the monster that killed the village is a scared, confused child; Alone in the Multiverse and tormented by a lingering fear that never truly goes away, the guilt of what he did to his mother and brother, and the powers and responsibilities of being a Guardian that he has no idea how to control.

Or; Error adopts Nightmare after the Apple Incident, Nightmare doesn't trust him at all and has a lot of trauma (and is like 12), and Error has no idea how to parent but he's trying his best guys

The boys return from a mission covered in some odd, orange, liquid. Before he knows it they are all kids. Now he has to figure out how to keep them safe, alive, and well while sorting out what childhood traumas that they faced that are now front and center in their memories. And also help them sort out the things that changed about them that they no longer remember.

THIS is what got me into your writing and I'm forever grateful it did. Like, *grabs a pilow and screams into it* he's just ao nice?? He's genuinely such a Good father figure to them but it's not unrealistic?? Your versions of these characters are my favourite, none could compare. It feels like his talking would be calming, and considering who we're talking about, it's amazing that it feels so genuine.
This is a very sweet fic, i love it. -

Literally one of the best fics I've ever read, and I've read a LOT.
The characters feel so utterly Real, it feels like they Would act like this and It's just so Genuine, Sincere, and it feels COMFORTING.
My GOD auther you are wonderful, i have no idea how you manage to keep such a perfect balance of angst and fluff, "filler" and plot, that is a skill not everyone can master.
I only recently caught up, but i already wish to completely forget it so i could experience it again for the first time like my god-
