Either way, Signora did not like this collective effort a single bit, candles, lights, food and all. It was worse because she wasn’t even leading it.

After Neuvillette went back to Palais Mermonia immediately and the panic inside the Fortress of Meropide addressed and taken care of, the Duke and the Champion Duelist he hired specifically to help him with the crisis negotiated about the reward of the bet. One party was more enthusiastic about this than anticipated, or was it not only one party?
