“Okay, fine. You know, just to prove a point, how about we kiss,” Diluc offered, his voice softening upon seeing Jean’s expression. “It’s better to set yourself up for disappointment early on, so you won’t feel bad when some gross dude tries to kiss you in the future. I’ll punch him, though, if he doesn’t ask for permission.”
“Very funny.” Jean stifled a giggle, but upon seeing the seriousness of Diluc’s expression, her eyes widened. “Uhm, but...well, isn’t this supposed to be for, you know,” she whispered, hands twisting the hem of her blouse. “Lovey-dovey people.”
“Well, not really. It’s just to see what the big deal is.” Diluc gave a huff, but he scratched his head in a way that told Jean he was starting to rethink the proposition. “I mean, if you don’t want to try it, that’s okay. I just don’t want you to get disappointed.”
“Okay. We can try it, but just once!” Jean pointed a finger at her best friend.
