Summary
As he lay there, in the shattered remains of his lovelorn heart, Aziraphale could only weep silently into the night. The tree that was so rich and full and that would bear fruit no more towered above, marking silently, twin graves of him and his dearest Crowley.
He would see his love soon.
“This is thy sheath.”
Aziraphale raised his dagger, glistening in the starlight as his beloved's eyes did once, and brought it down.
The sea of red pooled, and it was relief, the final embers of him burning out as he felt the warmth of his blood, almost as if Crowley had come to comfort him with his embrace. With the last of his energy, Aziraphale searched for the star in the sky, his lovely, gorgeous star.
“There rest, and let me die.”
