Summary

Alanna leaves Olau pregnant, both unhappy and glad for it. The waiting, hoping, hating the hoping was over, but she could already feel the child growing in her and hated that sensation in a different way. Alanna had built her life on being in control of her body, but now she wasn’t and couldn’t be.
Alanna gets pregnant. Her important people come together help her cope with a changing body.

When Dick Grayson was younger and first put on a cape he had naïvely thought there would be no lasting consequences for or on his body. He was an acrobat, a gymnast, and a circus performer after all. He knew how to take care of his body while doing all of those things. What none of them had noticed until it was too late, was the fumes and their impact on his young body. It had crept in quietly, a discomfort he thought was from bruising or overexertion. Once Leslie asks him to, "at least pretend to consider what I have to say, I don’t want to watch you die young. Or slowly.” He gave her a thumbs up, throat still feeling full of gravel, and they both knew he was lying with the supposed intent behind it.
Dick Grayson's lungs don't work and he goes out anyways.

Bruce had never thought of himself as a religious person, but both his parents had been. His mother, even though he had been eight when she died, had made sure to instill a sense of Jewish pride in him and his father had been Episcopalian. Then, in his late 20s, Bruce met his first and oldest son who belonged to an even smaller ethno-religion. Bruce respected it, but Barbara’s faith was much easier to understand because he was allowed to. She was United as Alfred was Anglican, which was to say very. He had known that the Drakes were Jewish, but thought that with Tim’s love of computers and science, and perhaps his own bias, that the Drakes were mostly non-observant like he was. At least with Tim, that was a lie. Tim Drake and Stephanie Kaur became friends because of shared visibility as minority religions and Bruce scrambled to learn about Sikhism. Damien’s faith made the most and the least sense. In theory, the League of Assassin’s religion was Ra’s A Ghul, but Damien’s clear request to attend worship at a mosque two weeks after his arrival made it clear this was not the League of Assassin’s actual religion.
