Death glared at him. “Why?? You seriously have to ask me that? I don’t want to see you scarred, Dream!” she snapped angrily, hurt. “If this goes wrong, you’ll carry the scar of this until the end of this universe! I don’t want that, and setting aside the part where I love you, brother, the very thought of it is abhorrent to me, to my very nature! And I don’t want to see that poor women withered away into little more then a spiritual tumour for you to bare!”

Lilly's gaze fixed on his eyes and the stars, the galaxies, the universe in his pupils. When he reached for her she stepped back with a gasp. “What are you?”
“I am everything I have ever told you I am, that my sister told you I am. You just didn’t understand, didn’t appreciate, the scale of what that meant. I have never lied to you, Lilly.”
Her eyes were wide and frightened as she whispered, “Dream...”
