Summary
Flins has a secret; he is not human. Specifically, he is a hehku haltija, a type of fire spirit that lives off of the emotions of others -- often to a tragic end. Flins is unusually benevolent for his kind, but that matters little when his magic can easily leave humans feeling empty or drive them to obsessive madness. But there are threats out there worse than Flins, and chief among them is the Wild Hunt and its enigmatic leadership. Flins intends to destroy the Wild Hunt while working alongside the other Lightkeepers and their allies, but can he do it while keeping his true nature a secret? And what will happen when a human called Illuga gets a little too close?

Summary
“Whatever’s bothering you, I’m all ears. Sounds like you need it off your chest,” Varka coaxes. “I’ve been told—”
“People keep flirting with Flins, and it’s pissing me off,” Illuga blurts, then immediately covers his face with his free hand. Mortification bolts through him, warming his body to the tip of his ears.
Varka pauses, and when Illuga risks a peek, the Grand Master has his jaw dropped open. He looks less like his esteemed title and more like a school girl hearing gossip. Delight nearly radiates from him. “This is the best day of my life,” he says, and Illuga begs the Moon Goddess to grant him death.
Illuga can't stand people flirting with Flins. Varka makes a decent (but definitely not recommended) therapist.

Summary
You are not human, Illuga’s mind echoes with certainty as he maps Flins’s features with the pads of his fingers. It’s definitely not the first time he’s had this thought, but this is the most sure of it he’s ever been. It’s easier to see now, in the same way light shines brighter when surrounded by darkness.
//An injury leaves Illuga temporarily blind, and Flins comes to check up on him. Turns out some things can be more clearly seen without sight.

Summary
It started out small, little comments here, remarks there that Flins would pause at, letting Illugas words buffer in his head.
Flins wouldn't say he had a thing for praise, absolutely he wouldn't. But coming from Illuga? It might have done things to him. A lot of things to him.
