His assailant? The scrappy one laying on the rush-woven mat in the corner over there.

Taigen is bound by honour to his childhood advesary: a scrappy samurai who communicates in grunts.
Ringo is there for a good time.Starting from Mizu's fight with the Four Fangs, this story progresses through to the Great Fire and beyond. It tries to linger in the quieter moments amongst the action.

Summary
Taigen tells Akemi he wishes to be happy, but he is unsure what that could mean.
After searching out Mizu, Taigen finds himself accompanying him on a ship heading for London.
“I will come with you to London,” Taigen says.
“I don’t need your help,” Mizu says.
“Our duel. What if you decide to stay there after your revenge is concluded?” Taigen says. He does not say, what if you die there?
Mizu’s face makes the expression of a man who has just stepped in fresh horse manure. “Unlikely.”

After all that Akemi has worked to build in Edo crumbles around her, Mizu reappears and offers her an unexpected path to a new life. A slow burn road trip romance, with spirits and poetry and sword fighting.
A complicated love story. (Mostly Mizukemi but some Mizu/Taigen, some... well, we'll see).
This is me basically writing my ideal version of Season 2 as I bide my time waiting for the show to come back.
